High atop a mountain, villagers paused to watch a lightning storm. As their eyes followed the happenings in the sky, they saw the lightning appear from seemingly nothing though surely it had its source of energy as do all things. When they came to realize this, it sparked within them a curiosity. Perhaps their little village could be named among one of the powerful. It was these people who sought to tap an unused source of magic. To draw powers that seemed to defy all understanding, but they too would have their source.
Slowly the villagers made progress and soon they were able to call to them the power of the etherel. The power was raw and unfocused and they often destroyed parts of their village in the attempts to harness it. It took a wandering student of magic to take the knowledge of the people and put it to proper use. As the first known summoner, this person was able to call upon the raw energy the village had stumbled upon and have it take various forms in Equinox to make it more controllable. While the effects of these spells may seem real, all they are is summoned ether under the bidding of a skilled magi.
