Kor Koeh
Gathered near the mouth of the mountain, the Dark Elves make their home here. They are caught between a world of light and the deep Drow caverns. The blazing sun burns their flesh and hurts their fragile eyes. The Drow would injure and even kill them should they wonder too close to the entrance of their spider web. The Dark Elves are constantly in a struggle to survive. This keeps the city from expanding far beyond the mouth of the cave; they have nowhere to increase their city if they wished it. The relationship between these two races is strained at best but there is always the chance for peace between them, but until that time comes the Dark Elves must limit their world.
The constant chill entering from the mouth of the cave does not afford the city warmth as Auvryund does for her Drow. Many a fire is often burning to try and stave off the chill. The city is one of grimy and dirty marble. It is artfully designed though poorly kept. The heart of the Dark Elves simply does not call to them with a love for their city as the other races. After all this is not the land of birth and each Dark Elf can always recall the beauty that was once theirs in the treetops of Eáránë Calmcacil. At times one of the Dark Elves will stiffen in rage at their imprisonment here in Kor Koeh and a dozen or so of their kind will look to them. They share a quiet telepathy among their kind, rarely speaking though the minds of other races are unknown to them. Some will look to the Dark Elf bristling with rage with understanding and others with plots and hopes to take back the city of their birth.
Until the time comes, should it ever for they fear being cursed beyond what they have received, this is their home. They come here for refuge and that is plain to any who venture just beyond the mouth of the cave. Their abilities could make a much more beautiful and comfortable home for themselves, if they cared enough to. Once they are able to at night, they leave their city barren and go out into the world hoping to find companionship. While close to each other it is a painful reminder to look upon another who shares your torment and your curse. So, they seek out other races to share their knowledge with them. The Dark Elves have never lost their desire to learn more of the outside world even given the consequences. To enter Kor Koeh at such a time is an eerie experience. The town gives off a feeling of abandonment, as if it hasn’t been lived in for years. When the sun rises, it sends them back into hiding and again the cavern is full of quiet mournful life.
