Eáránë CalmcacilDeep within the ancient wood, the oldest of the Yew trees bear the people of Julia up to the sun and blue sky. It is here the Elves make their homes. Few know of its existence and it is for the best. The Elves seek to keep great distance from other civilizations. It is done in the hopes of preserving their purity and balance. Without the influences of the outside world, their customs can be best preserved or so the elders tell the young. Each tree is joined to another and so on to create a tree top paradise for these gentle nature-loving people. No Elf lives alone as an island unto themselves. Carefully crafted bridges link every place of residence and even sites of trade to each other. This is symbolic of the lives they lead. Sturdy roots provide a safety for them that no normal building could ever afford. The tree tops provide shade and protection from the elements. Even the most civilized person cannot pass without giving pause to marvel at the natural beauty found here. Their heritage is rich as is their land. Though they rarely tread upon the ground, it is so fertile that a branch may be placed into the dirt without care and it will blossom. Streams circle the giant Yew trees giving needed nourishment for life. Life reigns here and can be found in the streams of sunlight that fall like gentle rain between the branches. Even the seemingly sleepy pool of water is filled with life. The Elves would die to protect their home and rightly so for it is as treasured as the people who inhabit it.
