Temples of Worship

Temple of Aeonleece
On a quiet island sits a beautiful building of gleaming blue marble, the color of the sea and sky alike. Indeed the temple seems to encompass the wonder of creation itself and the very life line of Equinox. A sense of tranquility and love fills you at the sight of it. Atop the tall temple a lighthouse can clearly be seen by day or night. It serves as a beacon to draw and guide all of Equinox. Here, in this place of serenity, all are welcome in the home of their mother. There is no judgment passed here as her followers attempt to live as the great Aeonleece once did. The temple is lovingly cared for by the vestal virgins who devote their lives to the fallen Aeonleece without reservation. Though never knowing of the pleasures of the flesh or of the fruit of their loins, they take to motherhood seeing all of Equinox as their family. They live here wanting for nothing but a visit from their children, Sidhe and Fey alike. It is their hope, in preserving all life on Equinox, that the great mother never truly dies.

Temple of Nathaniel
Sprawling across the marsh and swamp looms a dark edifice. The structure you approach cannot be mistaken for anything but what it is. The sound of water surging against the ancient stone reaches your ears long before you reach the dimly lit pathway. The door way lies open and without guard the way that death is open to us all. The dark rooms reveal glimpses into the lives of those who would take up such a following. One room in particular, while one of the darkest, gives way to the full shine of the moon allowed into the temple by an opening in the roof. Raising your eyes, you catch a glimpse of shadowy archways and perhaps a bit of movement. Though how you will arrive among the shadows, if that is truly your wish, will be a search in itself... for there is no guide. Tread lightly in this place lest you become Death's newest victim.

Temple of Arachnea
In majesty, the glorious temple rests in the place of death and birth for the Drow. It was here that Arachnea gave birth to the Drow and instructed them a final time before her death. Here in this very place the two matrons stood as newly born daughters and sisters listening to the words of their mother. The beautiful marble glitters in the torch light, even here in the deepest of caverns. The handiwork of the Dark Elves is presented in all its glory. As decreed with Arachnea’s final breath, this place of Auvryund would be where the two houses always meet in peace under the watchful gaze of their departed mother. The very temple takes on the likeness of her round body in which any Drow may gather, not as Torani or Zauep but as a child of the spider goddess. The very dirt beneath the temple is sacred to their people and it is believed should the blood of a Drow be spilled here, the very temple will crack from Arachnea’s fury.

Temple of Cazriel
Lovingly cared for by the citizens of Cazriel, only the most righteous of gods earn a seat of honor within this temple though it is not unheard of for the neutral deities to be honored here. Mahtan, Aranel, and Marcus are the gods to whom the temple belongs in earnest. It is a place of quiet reflection and silent prayer. No loud ceremonies disrupt even the faintest trickle of the blessed waters flowing forth from the fountain. A beautiful garden thrives off the blessed water itself and it is affectionately said you can hear the flowers bloom even when the temple is filled to capacity. There are no seats for the people who come to pay homage as such comforts are not important to the Cazriel. Entering the beautiful sandstone temple it is overwhelming that a people who deprive themselves so give such a place of grandeur to their gods. Following the flowing carpets down to the altar of the gods, you will see the bodies of worshippers kneeling with face to the floor in prayer. The lava that flows about the temple is known as the river of purity. It is believed the lava can cleanse any item of its power or curse.

Temple of Brackmere
On this cursed land the god and goddesses delight in the suffering of humanity. Without a patron to protect them, the humans are a ripe victim for their whims. Their worshippers are shrouded in secrecy and willingly sacrifice their fellow man in the hopes of favor from these who would surely bring destruction to all. Hoping to stave off their fury, worshippers gather in greater numbers than one may think, offering up all that they have to the pleasure of the dark deities. Though terrible even these gods understand the importance of loyal followers, all save for one. They treat their chosen well so long as they continue to prove their usefulness. The temple is kept in grand splendor though darkness reigns here that the sun fails to breach. Each stone is darker than the night sky and the lava flow casts an eerie glow. It is a constant reminder to their followers of how close they are to destruction should they fail the gods of Brackmere. For all intents and purposes they, Alexander with his sister Alexandria along with Deyndra and Melcara, share the rule in this temple and sit beside each other upon thrones of onyx.
