The Fey lead a charmed life shunning responsibility, made of only love for the amusement of Aeonleece. They are whimsical creatures that are able to find enjoyment in anything around them. They can sometimes be almost mischievous in their search for fun, though it is never intentionally ill-willed. While innocent, they are not naive and should they enter cursed land they will know even as they fail to express their intuition. Evil is a concept that the Fey can never grasp and its touch is one that will drive them away easily though inexplicably. They are of the purity of love and can never be tainted or learn hatred.
In their wanderings, the Fey came into contact with a variety of creatures and races. Their child-like curiosity drove them to the cities that began to form in the clearings. There they played their pranks and had their fun often at the expense of confused villagers. One evening a fey peacock was preening his gorgeous feathers in the last rays of sunlight, when he heard the sobs of a young human girl. Not understanding this emotion of sadness, he watched her and eventually strived to comfort her but to no avail. She cried more fearfully thinking perhaps the peacock would strike her. The peacock left her to her bout of tears disheartened and confused. He was unable to rest through the night so perplexed was he by the strange emotion this girl could not be saved from. So focused was he on this one thing that the magic within him gave him the form needed to talk with the girl, whose sobs could still be heard from where he stood.
The change meant little to him as he explored his new form with laughter. He raced to find the young girl but she had left by the time he reached the spot. She was soon forgotten as it is best for his kind, though he never lost his ability to change form. In this way the child-like curiosity of the Fey could be explored in a new way any race could understand.
While a Fey can never be tainted, they are able to lose themselves in the world of man. It is unknown what becomes of those who lose themselves to a world they were never meant to become a part of, though should the rumor be true it is without admittance. It is a sad fate for a Fey who has truly forgotten their nature and can never return to the wild. A Fey may go for long spans of time never using their alter form, that like a human, or perhaps may never learn how but should they go long without the gift of their creator Leedun it will be as fleeting as innocence itself.
